Talakona:  One of the beutiful place in Chittoor district of Andhrapradesh, India. Thalakona is popular because of Lord Shiva Temple, Water falls ( > 270 feet) and Forest environment. You can enjoy the water falls bath any time of the year and walk from temple to falls is really memorable. In Summary: With a 270 feet (82 m)-fall,  Talakona  is the highest waterfall in the Andhra pradesh. Talakona  is located in Nerabailu village in Yerravaripalem Mandal of Chittoor District. It is located 49 kilometres (30 mi) from Pileru, 58 kilometres (36 mi) from Tirupathi, 220 kilometres (140 mi) from Chennai, and 105 kilometres (65 mi) from Chittoor and 250 kilometres (160 mi) from Bangalore. Talakona  is a resort with waterfalls, dense forests and wildlife. The area was declared a biosphere reserve in 1989 due to the presence of rich variety of flora and fauna. Boyakonda

One of the most visited place in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. I think Boyakonda Gangamma temple receive most devotee's aftter Tirumala and Kanipakam. What is there ? Boyakonda is remote place with Gangamma temple on top of small stonny hill. The temple is popular to people in AP, Tamilnadu and Karnataka who believe Gangamma goddess.  When to Visit ? You can plan to visit all days but majority of pooja's and visitors prefer Sunday and Tuesday. Location : Boyakonda is located near Chowdepally (6 kms), on the way to Madanapalli (15 kms) and 12 kms from Punganur. Better to reach the place on your own vahicle because busses from Chowdepally, Madanapalli and Punganur are normally heavy crowded. Speciality : Two major specialities of the temple.....traditionally, people who want to take decisions (by keeping flower on Goddess head, if it falls on right side then their dream comes true, otherwise :) ) and rest are coming here to pray by sacrificing animals / birds. Gooda Veyadam

In Villages, Gooda used to lift the water from low ponds to upper places (2 to 10 feet high) manually. Normally two people require to lift water through Guda but one also can do if the person is experienced and low height's. Gooda water is required when rains / tank water is almost over but crop require few more times water..... Paddi planting is done by women from morning to evening and they sing beautiful folk songs which are sung by one women and chorus by rest of the women......these songs can be heard from kilometers away. Many of  these folk songs are teasing ones to guy's or Men, mainly mama's or Bava's. Gooda Paddi planting... Paddi planting...

KodiPandem

Kodipandem (Rooster / Cock fight)    It's very interesting, competitive and joyful event / game during summer holidays (Dec to May) in near by villages. This event is traditionally followed and normally organized by local head / leader who manages the venue, shops and other activities (playing cards, drinks & ... ). Big People (Village heads) grow the roosters healthy to win  against rivals to show their power to win against rival families. Cockfights usually starts around 11 am to 11:50 am and continues till evening (~ 7pm) under huge Tree or set of tree's. But the program details were publicized few day's early or previous week / day based on different factors. In the Cockfight game involve: Cock owners, Knife owner, Knife tying person, Betting people and viewers.
