Kaivara
Kaivaram is very nice place to visit for a day, from Bangalore. Kaivaram is ~60 kms from B'lore & on the way to Chintamani / Madanapalli. MUST see places are: Kaivaram temple, satram, Hill, Kaivara Thatha caves, Forest garden, KailasaKona and BanyanTree.
Planning from B'lore: leave ~7 am....take a break at Kaivara cross for break-fast (nice taste in small hotels) and move to Kaivara temple...park your car....climb hill. Temple visit can be after climbing down, to avoid heat !!

- Kaivaram temple: Nice temple, bangles are very good withing temple complex, read more
- Satram (next to temple where rooms available & food served),
- Hill (Opp. to temple) which is 700+ steps mountain & you will find water (small lake) between stones at 3 - 5'' temperature always.
- Hanuman Temple: Very near to Kaivaram temple, ~ 500 meters
- Kaivara Thatha Caves: 2 kms from Kaivara and there is a mutt , Narasimhaswamy idle in deep cave. Avoid carrying banana, coconut or food items here....too many monkeys.
- Forest Park: Just opp. to Kaivara Thatha temple. Nice place to rest and kids enjoy with play items. Park maintained by dept of forestry with few animals and birds.
- KailasaKona: 5-6 kms from Kaivara and it's MUST see place where big hall & temples are created in big stone at hill. Even though it's created few years back it's really wonderful place. Food is served freely from 12:15pm to 2:30pm and plan to have lunch. It's really good & tasty food. On the way to this place you hit water streams (rainy season) coming from hills & reservoir......
- BanyanTree: Local stories connect this tree to Mahabharat days..... :) As per the great Indian Epic, Mahabharatha, the Pandavas lived here during the exile in the forest (Vanavasa). It is also believed that during this period, Bhima, one of the Pandavas killed demon Bakasura in this place. During the Dwaparayuga this town was known as Ekachakrapura.
