Banana leaf meals


 Traditionally, food is served in Banana leaf in India because of it's availability, size to fit all varieties and chemical free.
  • India has a long-standing tradition of serving food on banana leaves
  • Food when served on banana leaves gets enriched with several nutrients. Because:
    • Anti-Oxidant Rich: Banana leaves contain large amounts of polyphenols that are natural antioxidants. 
    • Economical: Having food on banana leaves is one of the most economical and inexpensive options to go for.
    • Eco-Friendly: Make a smart move and ditch those plastic disposable utensils for banana leaves as they are much more eco-friendly.
    • Hygiene: It is always a good idea to eat on banana leaves as it is certainly more hygienic when compared to other utensils.

I do have experience from childhood.... 
But when I move to Metropolitan city-Bangalore, getting (buy) banana leaf is not easy on daily basis. 
So, decided to plant few banana plants in a empty site, near my home. After few months, I can get banana leaf (3 - 5 feet size) weekly 3-4 times. Now it's fun to serve food to guests or eat Break-fast, Lunch & Dinner in banana leaf's.
